Since the group was established, back in 1999, the main activity of the baroque ensemble LACHRYMAE is to propose and develop a recreation of the original sound and baroque´s esthetic by using instruments similar to those in the seventeen and eighteen centuries and covering a wide and varied repertory that goes from the early Canzonettas, Sonatas and Tonos Humanos of the XVII century to the Cantatas of late baroque´s chamber music.

LACHRYMAE has performed in multiple scenarios and occasions, among them the following festivals: “A Winter in Mallorca”, Balearic Islands, (1996, 1998 and 2001); series II, III,V and XV of the Autumn Chamber Music, San Lorenzo de El Escorial; Classics in Summer, Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid (1998, 1999, 2001, 2003); Early Music´s Week in Burgos (2000); Music in the Holy Week, Madrid (2001); Autumn´s Festival, Madrid (2002).

EXTEMPORE was invited by the Spanish Embassy in Amman, Jordan, as part of the cultural activities related to the Spanish presidency of EU in 2010.
